General Vo Nguyen Giap and foreign veterans



Ha Noi, Nov. 2 (VNA) -- General Vo Nguyen Giap has expressed sincere thanks to members of the Viet Nam Friendship Village International Committee (VFVIC) for their contributions to build friendship villages in Viet Nam.

War veterans from France, Germany, Japan, the US and the UK took part in the 8th Conference of the Friendship Village International Committee under the Viet Nam War Veterans' Association (VWVA) held in Ha Noi on Oct. 30.

General Giap also appreciated their efforts in strengthening friendship and cooperation with the VWVA, adding that progressive war veterans had through those actions contributed to anti-war campaigns, peace preservation and the strengthening of friendship with other nations.

Viet Nam, on this occasion, conferred the Friendship Medal to the President of the VFVIC Gerrge Mizo, VFVIC Vice President Georges Doussin and President of the German National VFV Committee Rosi Hohn Mizo in recognition of their assistance to Viet Nam
