Vietnam Builds US $500M Culture Village

Nhan dan Oct. 4--Construction of a US $500 million ethnic culture village started yesterday in Ha Tay province, about 60km west of Hanoi.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, National Assembly Chairman Nong Duc Manh and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem and other senior officials attending the launching ceremony laid the first bricks to build the village.

Minister of Culture and Information Nguyen Khoa Diem said in his opening speech that the ethnic culture and tourism village will help to preserve the cultural heritages of Vietnam

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai visits Mongolia

Nhan Dan Oct. 3--Prime Minister Phan Van Khai paid a working visit to Mongolia on October 2 at the invitation of his Mongolian counterpart R. Amarjargal, after Mr. Khai's Scandinavian tour.

Vietnamese Encouraged to Work Overseas

VNS Oct. 3--The Government hopes to encourage Vietnamese citizens find employment abroad with a decree that aims at improving working conditions and making the licensing process of manpower agencies easier.

This was revealed at a workshop organised here on Friday to explain the salient features of the decree.

Foreign Direct Investment in Vietnam

VNA- Ha Noi, Oct. 1 Viet Nam has to date had 2,265 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects operating with a combined working investment capital of USD 35.9 billion, according to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Nhac.



FDI capital now accounts around 30 percent of total investment capital for social development.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai starts Denmark visit

VNA Sept. 29 -- Prime Minister Phan Van Khai arrived in Copenhagen at 11:30 hrs (local time) today (Sept. 29), starting his official visit to Denmark, the last leg of his tour of four Scandinavian countries.

Vietnamese PM Phan Van Khai and his Danish counterpart Paul Nyrup Rasmussen held talks this afternoon.

Earlier, PM Khai met with Copenhagen Mayor Hans T. Hansen. He also toured the Ore Sund Exhibition, Pepper island and the construction side of a bridge linking Copenhagen and Malmo city, southern Sweden.

Vietnamese and Norwegian Prime Ministers hold talk

VNA Sept. 27 -- Prime Minister Phan Van Khai held talks with his Norwegian counterpart Kjell Magre Bondevik in Oslo, Norway, right after his arrival in Norway on Sept. 27.

This is the third leg of the Vietnamese Prime Minister's fortnight tour of four Scandinavian countries from Sept. 20.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai visits Finland

VNA Sept. 23 -- Prime Minister Phan Van Khai arrived in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, at 9:15 am (local time) today (Sept. 23), starting the second leg of his tour of four Scandinavian countries after a three-day visit to Sweden from Sept. 20.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister paid a courtesy visit to Finnish President Martti Ahtisaati, to whom he spoke highly of Finland's role and position in Europe and the world. PM Khai also praised the Finnish President's effective contributions to strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation among nations.
